The craziest thing about all of this is knowing that Pink wasn’t fully mature enough to know how much she meant to others like…!

She didn’t expect the diamonds to nuke the earth over her.

She didn’t expect her former soldiers to seek revenge against Rose.

She didn’t expect Pearl to base her whole existence on her.

She thought everyone would move on without her, that they’d embrace that newfound sense of freedom. She had Steven just to let him enjoy the feeling of growing freely, making his own choices.

She didn’t expect him to feel burdened by her too.

So here we are, after 5 seasons of thinking that we knew what was going on, turns out we didn’t.

And there are a lot of people angry about what Rose/Pink Diamond and Pearl did: “they lied to the Crystal Gems!”, “Rose was the one who started the world in Earth” “Rose was selfish” “she manipulated Pearl” and a lot more, but no matter what you may think about her, we all must agree on something: SHE WAS NOT STUPID.

Do you really think she did all that with at the moment she came out with it?

No, and I’ll told you why:

· First off all, Pink Diamond seems to be one of the “younger” diamonds, and we can see it in Jungle Moon where Pink begs demands Yellow for a planet and the last gives a fuck and tells her no: Pink needed to ask for permission to do things, even as a diamond, she wasn’t treated equally because she “she didn’t acted like a diamond” (and if that was true or not, it’s not part of the discussion, although she was in fact acting like a child).

And then, when she finally got the opportunity to choose a planet (and it’s worth emphasizing that Earth is pretty small compared to the planets the other diamonds have) she was ready to do what her fellow diamonds always did: conquer, destroy, make it yours. But she couldn’t. She saw the life that was on Earth, she saw the animals who lived in there, she saw the humans. And why is that so important?

For what we know, the only “aliens” in the galaxy with the power of interacting and creating a society are the diamonds. That is what Pink learned and how she lived, UNTIL NOW, because it turns out that there are this little and warn guys running naked with fire in that green planet with the small moon. And she couldn’t end that, that’s how we go to

· the second thing: Pink DID try to talk to the other diamonds:

Before she started with the Rose Quartz thing, she had already tried to speak to the diamonds about leaving Earth, SHE WANTED TO GIVE UP HER FIRST COLONY BECAUSE SHE THOUGHT THAT IT DESERVED TO LIVE. That, my dear, it’s not selfish.

However, we can also see that the diamonds don’t care, so Pink starts to dresses up as Rose Quartz and starts a revolution against the diamonds thinking that in that way the would stand down. But the don’t, the other diamonds still want Pink to conquer Earth, and no matter how many times she tries to talk them out, they don’t listen.

· Third, Pink finds herself in a horrible position of deciding what is more important: the Diamonds or an entire planet full of life. It doesn’t sound that hard, but we can’t forget that she is a diamond too! If she wants to get the diamonds away from Earth then she has to go too, and that’s what she wanted at first, but now there are more gems joining her in the rebellion and taking her as their leader, she can’t just disappear now. She needs to do something so bad and so dangerous that would scare the diamonds out of Earth but letting her stay. But she can’t do it alone.

Her relationship with Pearl

Before I get to the final point, I want to talk about this for a sec. We can assume that Pearl was assigned to Pink Diamond when she got her colony, so they both arrived to Earth at the same time. As her pearl, she always had to be near Pink, so I’m pretty sure that she saw Pink fall in love with the planet and change her mind about the way the diamonds rule. I’m sure that Pearl saw how Pink started being Rose, and that’s why she falls in love with her, because she wasn’t just different to the other diamonds, she was different to any other gems! She cared for others, and as a pearl I don’t think she had seen much of that.

And more important, Pink NEVER made Pearl do something against her will, actually

She told Pearl to leave, but she didn’t want to leave her because she love her.

“yeah, she loved her because Pink brain-washed her!”

Really? Do your really think that? A lot of gems joined Rose in the revolution, and she didn’t brain-washed any of them, and example of that is Garnet: she find her own way to Rose, not the other way around. So, in the moment Pink decided that the only way was ending herself, she knew that the only one she could trust was Pearl, the one who really knew her. However, I admit that she did put a lot in her shoulders and not letting her say anything to anyone was kind of rude, although we must also understand why she did it.

But Rose did appreciate Pearl, maybe even love her, but her love for Earth and the humans was, sadly for our favorite pearl, bigger.

The last chance

Like I already say, Pink didn’t go with the fake your own death plan as soon as she came out with it, she think it throw, and I’m sure that she believed that if she did it, the other diamonds would lose strength and abandon the fight.

Witch they did, for some minutes at least.

All the Crystal Gems have already said it: “when we thought we won, a light came from the sky and destroyed everything”. The only ones Rose could protect from that where Garnet and Pearl, who where near her. But she never thought that the diamonds could do something like that. That was the only foolish thing she did: underestimate the diamonds.

She wasn’t selfish, and she didn’t manipulate anyone. She started a revolution, and we, like people living in this world, know that (sadly) the only way of stopping people with a lot of power is gathering a group of people who are as angry as you and fight. That’s what Rose did. Yes, she lied, but in change she saved an entire planet.

So now that it has all been said, HOLY FUCK STEVEN IS A DIAMOND!! WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN NOW?? I SERIUSLY DON’T KNOW HOW I MANAGE TO WRITE ALL THIS WITHOUT LOSING MY MIND.
